CBT Technology Institute is Hiring a Financial Aid Officer Near Hialeah, FL

LEVEL: Non-Exempt

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Campus Director– Financial Aid Director

SUMMARY: The FAO, under general supervision, evaluates, approves, monitors and awards financial

aid that conforms to all Title IV regulations as well as State and School polices and operating guidelines.

Furthermore, the FAO assesses the financial needs of students, and counsel’s students and parents

regarding financial aid options, processes, and requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Starts

  • Conduct needs analysis in compliance with federal criteria to determine the relative eligibility of

each financial aid applicant.

  • Conducts verification of student and parent application data in compliance with federal criteria.
  • Determines the types and amounts of financial aid to be awarded through the packaging process

according to federal, state, and institutional requirements. Monitors individual student awards.

Resolves data conflicts and over awards.

  • Utilizes professional judgment to adjust a student’s eligibility based on documented mitigating

circumstances in accordance with federal statutes.

  • Provides financial aid counseling to students and parents regarding all aspects of the financial aid

process. Make necessary referrals to other student service offices.

  • Provides support to students experiencing family, personal or economic crises, which may impact

school performance. Specific focus on working with special needs populations to identify unique

needs and coordinate appropriate services.

  • Monitors and evaluates satisfactory academic progress of students.
  • Interacts with appropriate outside entities to facilitate the student eligibility process.
  • Participates in the development of institutional financial aid policies and procedures that will

positively influence efficiency and quality of service provided.

  • Maintains appropriate documentation via data entry system.
  • Participates in annual training and professional organizations to keep abreast of new information

and program changes to be implemented.

  • Update tracking overview daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Basic office skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Organizing and coordinating skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Aid policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Financial Aid experience required
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure & with a diverse student population
  • Team player
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $47,000.00 per year
